Run 1471 – Hare – Wheels – venue – The Leodis – Monday 26th July
Twas a warm night and the pack was forming outside the Leodis (Wheels has been trying to get us here for yonks)
Our Interhash returnee Psycho full of war stories and tales of woe about how Kenya got beat in the vote for the next run! Rambo, Evers, Black Widow, Grope, Jack Tar, Weasel, Pansy, 19th, Easy Access and Little World made up the pack and after Wheels gave his brief it was on on to the right with Rambo, Jack Tar and Pansy leading the way closely followed by Grope and sicko who had gone the wrong way despite being told we were on on from the off! The ginnel was found and so were the falsies found by Pansy and Rambo. The on on was called and the Primrose valley was laid out before us – I can see what Wheels was going on about the hidden treasure that is Primrose Valley.
Out of the Valley park and on on towards Temple Newsome – all the FRB’s were caught out and Jack Tar took the lead down the hill towards the Wykbeck pub and then back into the park, Grope was going to cross the road into the Halton Moore estate until I asked him if he had a flak jacket and machine gun, he soon came back and followed us into the park. Pansy and Rambo found the trail and were soon miles in front of the chasing pack.
We left the park and went into the housing estate where the trail went cold. The ensuing pack had cought up by now when Rambo and Jack Tar stumbled upon the trail again and ran on up by the old Seacroft hospital where once again the trail went cold. Again the trail was stumbled upon this time by Weasel and once again it was on on over the fields, the earlier rain was mainly responsible for the lack of flour and not the lack of it!!
On on to the regroup where Rambo was attacked by the local kids taking the piss and running backwards (the down down was greatly accepted!) he soon raced them off and found the trail again with Pansy and Jack Tar, All too soon the Trail came back to the Leodis and a welcoming drink on a warm night. The food was good and the circle was very funny with Ginger the root of most of the laughter, all will be revealed at a later Hash!! A successful raffle was held and then it was home to bed ready for an early start
the next morning.
A good trail through virgin country in the heart of Leeds – a real hidden gem!
