Frightening instructions for those travelling by car-M621, A58 into the centre of Leeds, find the right slip road …….no I don’t think so. I whimped out and took FD`s advice. Also frightening! Just pass the Merry Monk and ON ON. Simple. However for those travelling by train no problem. A free bus to the college and a short walk. Buses stopped at 7p.m. Annoying!
However in spite of this a good turn out. Obviously hand pulled real ale was the incentive to persevere.
The run took us up to Woodhouse Moor where we doubled back and wound our way through the University campus. We passed university buildings, a police station, and the old grammar school and …..a mystery building ,the use of which I cannot divulge as I am sworn to secrecy by Magnum. I would have noticed more had I not been distracted by the riveting conversation of Tight Fit and Grope about their high tech headlight gear. This seemed to last a good part of the journey (the conversation no their lights)
Options were then given to leave the trail and drink or carry on the trail and drink. We all dispersed and sampled beer in The Victoria, The Old Bar or The George and then back at the Fox and Newt.
Down Downs were limited to 6.These were as follows:- Sleeping Bag for his hare raising experience, Grope for needing a mummy to dress him, Black Widow for snitching on him when she couldn’t dress herself either, Pansy who filled in for Psycho and Shaggy who discovered there was no free bus but still made it. Heroin was called in by FD for the `no driving licence ploy`which resulted in heroin drinking to her heart’s content and FD driving around on the wrong side of the road. No change there! Finally Wheels was the envy of everyone after spending an exciting weekend at……..wait for it ……….the donkey sanctuary. Well you can’t get better than that. I certainly know where I’m heading when moving on to pastures new. Try and stop me!
