High Petergate is between Bootham and Low Petergate. There's a large car park on Marygate - 5 mins walk. go back up Marygate, right onto Bootham and go straight through the arch (Bootham Bar) into High Petergate. Otherwise it's 10 to 15 minutes walk from York railway station. Turn left as you come out of the station and head straight for the Minster (turning left about onto High Petergate about 50 yards before you end up in the Minster's Sunday morning service).

By train : exit station, U-turn sharp right (station on your right) under the 'Dark Arches' railway bridge and over the canal. The Grove is 200 yards on right behind Brdgewater House tower. By car from M621 J3, follow signs for City Centre, and turn left into Manor Road (2nd left off main road). Then first right into David Street, first right into Francis Place and on to the end of Back Row. By car from Leeds it is best to find your way to Wellington St, Yorkshire Post Building, heading towards town. Go right at 2nd traffic lights into Northern St, right at T-junction into Whitehall Rd, cross the river, then left into Globe Rd. At end, junction with Water Lane, go left then immediate right into David St, then 2nd left and The Grove is straight ahead at end of Back Row. (NB no vehicular access from main road)

At the next roundabout (Tescos) take the third exit signposted A619 Worksop. At the next roundabout (Sainsburys) take second exit, follow road uphill passing crematorium on right hand side. Bear left on the one way system, the hotel is situated on the right hand side as you descend down the hill.
As you know, those of you who booked fully occupied double rooms and paid up in full by the 31st October were entered into our AGPU Room Upgrade Prize Draw.
The draw itself took place on Sunday November 9th 2008 at The Queens Arms in Chapel Allerton, Leeds and the winning names were pulled from the hat by the pub landlord, Ian Glenholme.
Our GM (Ever Ready), RA (Matilda) and Henry Root checked that all 36 double room bookings were entered into the hat and as each pair of names were pulled out they were recorded and the slips kept for verification.

Sunday marks the day for our Recovery Run. However, as we are in the middle of the Peak District, don't expect anything less than the best! Soup and sandwiches for all full rego's to end the day for those leaving but why not consider staying over? A record number are staying over Sunday night this year. £60 B & B per room is well below the official hotel rate! Check it out now as last minute changes cannot be guaranteed.
